John “Johnny” Boykin played four sports at Jesuit, lettering three years in both football where he started at quarterback and safety, and baseball, where he started in the outfield.
John, who both threw and caught touchdown passes as well as averaged over 30 yards per kick return over a three-year period, was captain of the baseball team his senior year, and was named best athlete and Bishop Lynch Award recipient.
John accepted a football scholarship to St. Benedict’s in Kansas, after which he returned to Jesuit to coach football for two years.
