Kevin Burris was a football and track & field standout at Jesuit Dallas, earning TCIL All-State accolades in both sports while securing All-American honors as an offensive tackle his senior year.
Burris was a three-year starter on the varsity squad, leading Jesuit to the state playoffs all three years. He was a TCIL All-District selection as a junior, but emerged during the 1977 campaign, where he copped TCIL All-District and All-State plaudits, and was tabbed to the All-American team.
Burris was also captain of the track & field team. In 1977 and 1978, he won the shot put at the TCIL State Championships. Burris received a football scholarship to the University of Texas following his graduation from Jesuit, but his career quickly ended after a series of injuries.
