A two-time TCIL state champion in cross country (1986 and 1987), Mike Reilly was also a two-time TCIL state champion in the 1500-meter run (1987 and 1988) and a three-time state champion in the 3200m (1986-88) having broken the School record in both events.
Graduating class salutatorian, Reilly became a standout distance runner at Stanford University, where he was nationally ranked in the 3000m steeplechase for two consecutive years and was a 1992 NCAA Academic All-American.
Since graduating, Reilly has enjoyed a distinguished administrative and coaching career, including an extended stay as a coach and director of track & field operations at Stanford (1997-03) and a nearly six-year stint as an assistant athletic director at the University of Oregon (2005-11). In 2012, Reilly became the chief executive officer for the organizing committee of the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships.
