Steve Cook was one of the most decorated golfers in the history of Jesuit Dallas. A four-time TCIL All-State and All-District honoree, Cook paced the Rangers to four consecutive TCIL State Championships.
In both his junior and senior years, Cook earned medalist honors at the TCIL District Championships. As a senior in 1973, he won the TCIL state individual title. After graduating from Jesuit, Cook played golf at Texas Tech.
After taking a break from the game, Cook resumed competitive golf in 1989. He won three consecutive club championships at Prestonwood Country Club, competed in four State Mid-Amateur Championships and three State Amateur Championships. He was the individual medalist qualifying for the Texas State Open in 1991.
