Steger was a critical component of Jesuit's 2-0 week in district play, helping lead the Blue and Gold to a 78-72 win over state top-ranked Allen on Jan. 2 and a 65-55 victory over Plano on Jan. 5. Steger finished the week with 11 points and nine periods, recording a team-high seven boards against Plano, but his chief contribution was on the defensive end of the court. The junior helped Jesuit force 32 turnovers, logging three steals of his own during the week, and helped limit second-chance points as Allen and Plano averaged only nine second chance points per game on 11 total offensive rebounds.
