Savarese set the 500 free record for the second time this season, qualifying for state in two individual and two relay events during a strong run for the Rangers in the Region II-6A Championship. The sophomore swam the 500 free in 4:29.85, finishing third and earning the call-up to the state championship meet. Savarese added a qualification in the 200 I.M., racing to a 1:49.95 to place third in the event. Savarese was also on the state qualifying 400 free and 200 free relay teams.
