"Being a student athlete works to develop discipline and resilience. Morning and afternoon lifts, practices, getting calories in - none of it is easy, but the repetition of it develops habit. The gym and rink are both places where I can enjoy myself and get necessary breaks from schoolwork as well as places where I can set goals for myself. I am lucky to be on a hockey team surrounded by other players that share my desire to succeed academically."
