Ayres helped the Rangers win their second consecutive University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 9-6A crown, scoring a pair of individual wins while swimming in a pair of critical relays for the Blue and Gold. The junior dominated the freestyle sprint events, winning the 50 (22.14) and 100 (49.71) free. In addition, Ayres served as the lead-off leg for the squad's 200 medley relay, which finished first in 1:40.03, before swimming the second leg for the 200 free relay squad, that scored another win with a total relay time of 1:25.71.
