Muller helped lead Jesuit Dallas to the 2016 University Interscholastic League (UIL) State Championship, hurling a complete-game, three-hit shutout against Langham Creek to clinch a state championship game berth for the Blue and Gold. Finishing weekend with a spot on the All-Tournament team, the senior concluded one of the most impressive seven-day stretches in program history. On Monday, June 6, Muller was named the Gatorade National Baseball Player of the Year before being drafted by the Atlanta Braves with the 44th overall pick of the 2016 Major League Baseball (MLB) Amateur Draft.
