Howell, a mathematics teacher at Jesuit, is in his first year as head bowling coach at Jesuit Dallas. He takes over one of the fastest rising bowling programs in the state following an immensely successful 2015-16 season. Trey Russell ’16 finished the year by earning a berth to the Texas Bowling Center Association (TBCA) State Tournament this past April in San Antonio, Texas, finishing third at the regional tournament to become one of only 64 high school bowlers in the state to compete for the individual state crown.
“Ken is a great teacher at Jesuit and has helped with coaching in the past,” commented Koch. I am excited to have Ken involved in our bowling program. His work ethics, competitiveness, and ability to relate with our students will take this program to new levels.
The Rangers will return senior Chad Uy, one of two captains from the 2015-16 season, and junior Solon Hamer, a key contributor to the program’s 5-3 record last year.
“I am very honored to become the bowling coach for Jesuit Dallas,” added Howell. “Coach Kelli Mattacchione started a very good bowling program here a Jesuit. I look forward to working with the bowlers to build on what has been started here and together create one of the top programs in the state.”
Jesuit will begin competition in November. For more information regarding the Ranger bowling program, contact Coach Howell.
