Rangers Pull Away from Upset-Minded Keller

Jesuit Dallas hockey snapped a three-game skid on Thursday by upending Keller, 7-3, on Thursday at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in Euless. Five Rangers found twine as Jesuit increased its lead for third place in the AT&T Metroplex Hockey League Varsity Gold division to six points heading into the final three weeks of the season.

Sophomore Seth Dragojevic and senior JonMichael Dragojevic scored two goals apiece for the Rangers as seniors Bryce Clark and Nicholas Zang lit the lamp. Freshman Chase Neel scored a goal and logged an assist for Jesuit as senior Joseph Van Beek secured a pair of assists on the evening. Senior Caden Rupnow made 15 saves as the Rangers earned their third win of the season over Keller.

JonMichael Dragojevic scored the game's lone goal of the first period, ripping a shot past Keller netminder Logan Riley to give Jesuit a 1-0 lead with 7:13 remaining in the first period. Midway through the second period, Clark's fourth goal of the season three minutes into the second period to increase the lead to two before Keller cut the lead in half at the 9:28 mark of the period. The Rangers closed the second stanza with two unanswered goals on tallies from JonMichael Dragojevic and Neel.

Keller scored two unanswered goals of their own in the first four minutes third period to cut the lead back to a single goal. However, Keller committed four penalties in the third period to open the door for the Rangers, who ended the game with three unanswered goals to put away the game for the Blue and Gold. Seth Dragojevic scored on a pass from Van Beek, Zang added a goal on assists from Van Beek and senior Matthew Wrobel before Neel and junior Luke Skaggs assisted on Seth Dragojevic's second goal of the period to rack up Jesuit's seventh goal of the afternoon.

Jesuit will return to the StarCenter in Richardson for a 7 p.m. faceoff against Coppell on Thursday, Jan. 31. The Rangers will celebrate the nine members of the senior class prior to the contest, which will be streamed live on JesuitRangers.org.
