Bowling Opens Season With Dominant Win Over Marcus

Behind a 5-2 advantage in match play and a near sweep in baker games, Jesuit Dallas opened the season with a resounding, 12-3 win over Flower Mound Marcus on Saturday at AMF Lewisville. Improving their win streak to 12 matches dating back to 2018.
 
Sophomore Hayden Montpas led the charge with a 356 series total, rolling a 196 and 160 to best Marcus by 44 pins. Montpas hit turkeys in both of his games en route to the victory. Senior Jack Corrales bowled the team's best game on the afternoon and rolling a hambone en route to securing a 200 in the second, earning a 345-149 win in the top-flight singles slot.
 
Seniors Will Risinger and Matthew Vincent split bowling duties en route to a 50-pin win in match play as Risinger bowled a 134 followed by a 157 from Vincent. Jack Halloran finished his match play series with a 296 (155-141) as seniors Joey Berven (148) and Silas Hartman (153) combined for a 301 in match play.
 
The Rangers secured seven additional points the baker games, tying the opening point, 170-170, rattling off wins in the second and third games to secure a 445-307 victory in the aggregate. Jesuit won the second point, 142-109 before earning a hard fought two points with a five-pin, 133-128 win in the third game.
 
Jesuit will return to the lanes on Saturday, Nov. 2 when the Rangers travel to Bowlero Euless to face Lewisville. The Rangers swept last year's series against the Fighting Farmers, 9-6, and are 2-2 against Lewisville since the start of the 2017-18 season. First roll is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
