In a dual match that came down to a winner-take-all third baker game, Jesuit Dallas remained unbeaten on the year with an 11-4 win over Flower Mound Marcus on Monday at USA Bowl. The Rangers remain in first place in the DFW Central Division with the victory over the second-place Marauders heading into the Thanksgiving break while extending their winning streak to 16 matches dating back to 2018.

Senior
Jack Holloran led the charge with a personal-best 206 in the first game, closing out the two-game set with a 365 total score. Jesuit captured three out of five match points and edged Marcus, 1,684-1,632, in the aggregate pin total. Holloran nearly scored a clean game in the opener, a run which included a turkey in the second-through-fourth frames and spares from the fifth frame until the final ball in the 10
th. The senior's stellar opening game is his first 200-score of the season and far ahead of his previous high of 172, recorded on Nov. 11 against L.D. Bell.
Â
Jesuit's other two match play victories came courtesy of sophomore
Hayden Montpas and senior
Jack Corrales. Montpas scored a 174 and 180 in his first and second game, respectively, en route to recording a 46-pin victory. Montpas finished with 16 marks over the two games, including a run from the sixth to 10
th frame which included three strikes and a spare. Corrales tacked on 16 marks in his two matches and was able to battle back from a 10-pin deficit in the first game with a 203 second game.
Â
Senior
Matthew Vincent scored a 161 in his game of a split series with classmate Joey Berven, but the duo fell, 343-302 to a hot-handed Coen Evans who hit enough marks down the stretch to quell the Ranger rally. A 305 from senior
Silas Hartman was not enough to best Tyler Bowling, who scored another point for Flower Mound with a 371-305 win.
Â
The Rangers won the first baker game, 158-125, and needed one more point to clinch the victory. However, Marcus came storming back in game two of the bakers, defeating Jesuit 204-164 to not only take the points, but also swing the aggregate to a seven-pin, 329-322 lead. Due to the outcome of the second baker, the final baker came became a winner-take-all showdown between the two team.
Â
Jesuit trailed heading into the fifth frame, but a spare on the fourth frame by Montpas set the stage for Jesuit's game-breaking run. The Rangers capitalized on a Flower Mound miss as Corrales hit a single-pin pickup followed by strikes from Holloran, Berven and Vincent that essentially put the game away.
Â
The Rangers will break for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action on Monday, Dec. 2 against Nimitz. The Monday afternoon showdown will serve as the middle of a three-game home stand for Jesuit which will conclude on Dec. 9 against Lewisville.
