Offense Erupts For 20-Goal Outing Against Flower Mound

Jesuit Dallas erupted for the fifth 20-goal game in program history, returning from a three-game road trip in Miami, Florida with an eyebrow-raising, 20-7 win over Flower Mound on Saturday, Mar. 30 at Postell Stadium. The Rangers' resounding win keeps the Blue and Gold unbeaten in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) North West Division heading into the final month of the 2019 season.

Senior Jacob Jackson and junior Tommy Hovivian scored four goals each as Hovivian set the tone early by scoring all four of his goals in the first quarter. Sophomore Sam Teachout added three goals for the Rangers as junior Billy Metz, sophomores Caiden Vlasimisky, Henry Suarez and freshman McAllister Hobbs secured two goals each. Tallies from sophomore Curran Rose and senior Peter Buell completed the scoresheet for the Blue and Gold.

Metz and Jackson led the way with two assists each while Rose, Vlasimisky, Buell and senior Zachary Rilley added assists. Suarez tacked on 13 ground balls while securing 12-of-15 faceoffs to tip the scales in Jesuit's favor from the onset of the contest. Senior Andrew Patton caused two turnovers as senior goalkeeper William Moran made six saves alongside five stops from sophomore goalkeeper Rob Williamson.

The Rangers finished the contest with 43 shots, compared to 22 attempts from the Jaguars. The Rangers went 2-for-2 in man-up opportunities while holding Flower Mound to 2-of-5 in the same category, forcing three failed clear attempts while winning 22-of-28 faceoffs.

Jesuit outscored Flower Mound, 8-1 in the opening quarter on four goals from Hovivian along with two tallies from Metz and goals from Jackson and Teachout. The Rangers continued to mount the pressure in the second, when the Blue and Gold took a 13-3 lead into halftime after goals from Hobbs, Jackson, Teachout, Rose and Vlasimisky.

Suarez and Buell scored in the first minute of the third quarter to set the tone for the second half as the Rangers were able to hold Flower Mound to only four goals in the second half while scoring seven en route to the dominant victory.

The Rangers will return to action on Saturday, Apr. 6 against nationally-ranked Torrey Pines. Jesuit will then enter the final month of league play, beginning with a matchup against Episcopal School of Dallas on Saturday, Apr. 13 at 12 p.m.
