Freshman
Charlie McCarthy electrified the Ranger faithful with a four-goal outing, but Denton County scored with 22 seconds left in regulation to send Jesuit to a 5-4 setback on Thursday at the Richardson StarCenter. Jesuit will look for its first win of the season next Thursday against divisional newcomer Flower Mound.

McCarthy scored a pair of goals in the second and third periods, immediately jumping to the head of the Rangers' scoring leaders. Sophomore
William Sahadevan and freshman Asher Yarbrough each assisted on two of McCarthy's goals while sophomore
Kyle Hogan and senior
Austin Gass each recorded an assist. Freshman
Andrew Zang recorded 31 saves in his varsity debut, including 14 saves in the second period.

Thursday's showdown against Flower Mound will continue Jesuit's first circuit of divisional play as the Blue and Gold have matchups against familiar foes Plano West and McKinney on the horizon. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. at the Farmers Branch StarCenter.
