Jesuit Dallas bowling clinched its second consecutive unbeaten season with a 13-2 win over Nimitz on Saturday at the Euless Bowlmor. The Rangers entered baker games with a 5-2 lead but swept the second half of the dual meet to sweep the Vikings and finish the regular season with a 10-0 record.
Â
The Rangers were led by a team-best 384 from senior
Jack Holloran, who followed a 186 in game one with a 198 in game two to win his dual match point by 112 pins. Jesuit went 3-2 in match play as the senior duo of
Will Risinger and
Matthew Vincent won, 283-235, while senior
Silas Hartman scored a 306-206 win in No. 3 singles.
Â
Senior
Jack Corrales rolled a 183 in game two, but a 31-pin deficit was too much to overcome in a 339-328 loss while sophomore
Hayden Montpas' 369 series was edged by five pins for the Vikings' last match point of the afternoon. Jesuit would win the aggregate total, 1659-1425.
Â
The Rangers took an early lead in baker games with a 167-148 win in game one, then clinched the win with a 215-171 decision in game two. A dominant, 215-125 performance in the third baker game put the finishing touches on another unbeaten season.
Â
Jesuit Dallas bowling has not lost a dual match since Jan. 30, 2018, a 9-6 loss to Nimitz. The 2019-20 season has been particularly dominant, as Jesuit scored 10 or more points out of a possible 15 points in every dual match this season as Jesuit's closest match was an 11-4 win over Flower Mound Marcus on Nov. 18.
Â
Jesuit will now move into the postseason as the Texas High School Bowling Club (THSBC) Region Tournament is set to take place on Sunday, Mar. 1 in Amarillo, Texas. Jesuit will aim to qualify for the THSBC State Tournament as a team for the second time in program history at the regional tournament, hoping to move onto the state finals on Mar. 29 in San Antonio, Texas.
