Jesuit Dallas opened the season and District 7-6A play with a 6-3 win over J.J. Pearce on Thursday night in Richardson, Texas. A convincing, five-win stint in doubles helped the Rangers come storming back from a 2-1 deficit in doubles, leading the Blue and Gold to a season-opening win.

Senior Diego Elizondo picked up a hard-fought, 8-3 decision before fellow fourth year Calum Taylor won his No. 4 singles match, 8-4. Juniors Paco Lorenzo and Blake Woodard capped the singles success with respective 8-2 and 8-5 victories.

Wilson and Ardoin captured Jesuit's lone win in doubles, scoring a hard-fought, 7-6 win in the first set before picking up the second set, 6-3. Woodard and Lorenzo battled hard but dropped a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 decision while Elizondo and Taylor dropped a 6-4, 6-4 battle in second-flight doubles.

Jesuit will continue the season on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Lake Highlands H.S. The circuit through District 7-6A will continue on Sept. 29, when the Rangers travel to Irving, Texas to take on the Cardinals.
