Jesuit Dallas bowling will head into the midpoint of its 2021 season with a 2-1 record following back-to-back wins in back-to-back weeks over Flower Mound Marcus and Irving Nimitz. Rebounding from a setback to Lewisville on Jan. 9, Jesuit is set to return to USA Bowl for a matchup against Flower Mound Marcus on Feb. 20 after the Feb. 13 showdown between the Rangers and Marauders was postponed due to weather.

The Rangers' loss to Lewisville was the team's first loss since January 30, 2018. The impressive winning streak of 21 matches stretched two full seasons and led to the first two state championship team appearances in program history.

Will Mina secured the lone win for Jesuit in singles competition, sending the Rangers into Baker Games needing a clean sweep for any shot at the victory. Lewisville ended those aspirations with a near 40-pin win in the second baker game a buffer which proved enough to not only capture the game point, but also the aggregate baker point.

Hayden Montpas led the charge with a team-leading 195 in his first game but dropped down to a 149 in game two and lost by 22 pins. Mina rolled a 151 in his first game and was able to hold off a rally from Lewisville's Noah Gonzales, securing a 260-248 win and a point in the Rangers' column. Sophomore

Montpas and Mina each secured match victories as Jesuit dominated the baker games en route to a convincing win. Mina edged Marcus by eight pins, bowling a 126 and 158 to improve his start to 2-0 on the season. Montpas tacked on a team-high 172 in his first game and used a 141 in the nightcap for the 313-204 win. Junior

Victor Martinez while Menke bowled a 169 and 146 but was unable to topple the Marauders' highest round of the day in a 387-315 setback. Â Â

The Rangers raced ahead of Marcus with a 148-113 victory in the first of the three baker games, winning the second by six pins before closing the door with a 183-157 win in game three.

vs. Nimitz – Feb. 9, 2021

Jesuit had to hold on down the stretch and withstand a surge from Nimitz in baker games, but the Rangers outlasted the Vikings to pick up an 8-7 win on Feb. 9.

Montpas scored a season-high 248 in his first game and erupted for a 411-294 win in match play to set the tone for the Blue and Gold. Sophomore

Victor Martinez (121) combined for another point for the Blue and Gold, but William Mina saw his strong start to the season end as he suffered his first loss of the year, 311-227.

Jesuit won the first baker game, 122-109, but Nimitz came storming back with an 11-pin win in game one and a two-pin victory in game two. The final aggregate total was split, 347-347, which resulted in Jesuit earning the win by earning one of the two baker match points.
