Jesuit Dallas started the 2021 campaign in electric fashion, taking a 12-0 halftime lead en route to a 19-0 victory over Plano West in the team's season opener on Saturday at Postell Stadium. Sparked by seven goal scorers, three of which scored four apiece, Jesuit opened the season with a win for the 15th consecutive year.
 
Seniors Connor Legg, Curran Rose and sophomore Cameron Martin scored four goals each as Martin closed out the contest with a team-leading six points. Seniors Hudson Johnston, Sam Teachout and Caiden Vlasimsky found twine two times each while senior Henry Suarez provided a jolt of electricity for the Ranger lineup, scoring seven seconds into the first quarter for Jesuit's first goal of the year.
 
The Ranger defensive midfield caused fits for the Wolves all afternoon, holding the Wolves to an 8-of-19 clear conversion rate. Jesuit only allowed four Plano West shots, one of which was saved by junior Connor Knight, who made his varsity debut as a starter in the contest.
 
Jesuit won 21 of 23 faceoffs, including 10 wins for Suarez, six wins for senior Mason Chandler and five wins for junior Will Reading, and secured 44 ground balls including nine for Suarez, six for Chandler, three apiece for Legg, Rose, Martin, Reading, seniors Matthew Isbell, Tristian Hassell and junior McAllister Hobbs. Senior Alex Chen, junior Charles Moran and junior Jack Emery caused turnovers, and Jesuit successfully cleared the ball in all 35 clear attempts.
 
The Rangers will welcome the nationally renowned IMG Academy lacrosse program to Postell Stadium for a huge matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Jesuit and IMG Academy will draw national attention in a matchup between two perennial state powers, as the Rangers will face a talented, out-of-state team before beginning the first true road trip of the 2021 season. Face-off between Jesuit and IMG Academy is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Feb. 16.
