For the second time this season, Jesuit Dallas came roaring back from a deficit with a baker game sweep to come within one win of clinching their spot at regionals with a 10-5 win over Nimitz on Tuesday at USA Bowl. The Rangers competed in their second dual match in four days on Tuesday following a dominant 14-1 win over a shorthanded Marcus team on Saturday.

Hayden Montpas and sophomore
John Risinger won their respective dual matches to give Rangers a few critical points heading in to baker games as Montpas bowled a team-high 174 en route to his 319-263 head-to-head decision. Risinger rolled two 143 games to win his dual by over 50 pins. Sophomore
Ryan Menke secured a 155 in his first game, but was unable to topple Nimitz' Nik Harris, who rolled a 427 for the Vikings' highest score of the afternoon.

Trailing Nimitz, 5-2, heading into baker games, Jesuit took an early lead and cut the deficit to a single point with a 151-145 win in the first baker. A 20-pin difference favored Jesuit Dallas in the second baker game before the Rangers answered the call with a 156 in the third game, which, combined with Nimitz's 93 provided the Rangers with a convincing, 489-400 aggregate win in the event and clinched the win for Jesuit.

Risinger also led the charge against Marcus with a 201 in his second game en route to a 309 series score. Montpas narrowly won his dual match, following a 168 with a 152 to finish with a team-high 320 total score and giving the Rangers one of their four dual match points. Evanich picked up a dual match point with a 242 series (112-130), and Martinez rolled a game-one 153 en route to a 281-262 win in his dual match.

Jesuit dominated in the baker games, taking a near 60-pin lead after the first baker game with a 139-78 win before closing out the three-game baker set with a dominant, 430-185 decision.

The Rangers have two more dual matches remaining on their schedule as Jesuit will hope to hand Lewisville its second loss of the season on Mar. 20, a match that will pit the two current district leaders against one another. Jesuit will then conclude the regular season on Monday, Mar. 22 against Flower Mound Marcus. The regional tournament is scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 28 in Plano, Texas.
