Rangers Pick Up Two Wins During Spring Break Trip

Jesuit Dallas picked up two wins during its spring break trip, securing a 15-2 win over Christian Brothers on Mar. 13 before rebounding from a 12-2 setback to national powerhouse Culver on Mar. 14 with a 10-2 victory over Trinity on Mar. 15.
 
Sophomore Cameron Martin finished the week with a team-leading eight points on six goals and two assists, followed closely by senior Henry Suarez, who secured six points on five goals and an assist. Junior McAllister Hobbs racked up four goals in the team's win over Christian Brothers while junior Nate Duncan pieced together four goals over the three games.
 
Junior goalkeeper Connor Knight averaged seven saves per game and earned 21 total saves during the week while senior Mason Chandler secured a 74.2 percent clip at the faceoff "x" to lead the team, earning 23 faceoff wins over the three games.
 
Hobbs' four goal outing led the effort against Christian Brothers as Jesuit erupted for five first quarter goals en route to taking an 8-2 halftime lead. Martin scored a hat trick, Suarez and Duncan added two goals apiece while Metz, seniors Connor Legg, Sam Teachout and freshman Greyson Kissock scored one goal each. Chandler secured 9-of-12 faceoffs, earning a team-best seven ground balls, while senior Tristan Hassell picked up four ground balls. Sophomore Billy Robertson caused two turnovers, Knight added four saves over three quarters and freshman Cooper Coleman recorded a save in his varsity debut.
 
Senior Hudson Johnston and Duncan scored the two goals for the Rangers against Culver as Suarez and Metz tied for the team lead with four ground balls each. Knight secured 12 saves in cage as sophomore Michael Mathie secured two ground balls and caused a turnover.
 
Against Trinity, Martin scored a first half hat trick with one goal in the first and two in the second. A key run that saw the Rangers score seven unanswered goals between the second and fourth quarters gave the Blue and Gold an eight-goal advantage in the fourth. Suarez picked up a hat trick of his own in the win as Duncan and Legg joined juniors John Starr and Charles Moran in the scoring column. Knight wrapped his strong weekend with five saves while Coleman added two stops in cage.
 
Jesuit Dallas will return to Postell Stadium for a home game against Coppell on Thursday, Mar. 25. Face-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. as the Rangers aim for their seventh straight win over Cowboys.
