Rangers Take Command of TAHA Tournament After Dominant Win Over Allen

Jesuit Dallas scored three goals within a three-minute span in the second period, wrapping the stanza with five tallies en route to taking a one-game lead in Texas Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA) Division I Pure State Tournament with a 7-2 win over Allen on Thursday at the Plano StarCenter.
 
Junior Santiago Diaz racked up a hat trick for Jesuit and sophomore Kyle Hogan added two tallies to the Ranger effort while senior Seth Dragojevic and sophomore Charlie Cohen each scored a goal to complete the scoresheet. Senior James McCown recorded three assists, tying Diaz, Cohen and Dragojevic for the team lead. Sophomore William Sahadevan recorded two assists, freshman Charlie McCarthy added one of his own and senior goalie William Carney recorded 29 saves in net.
 
Jesuit will aim to clinch its third consecutive TAHA State Championship title when the series resumes on Monday, Mar. 29. Puck drop for the second game is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the Comerica Center in Frisco, and game three will follow if necessary, on Tuesday, Mar. 30 at 9:15 p.m. at the same location.
