1/30/2022 10:08:00 PM

The Jesuit Dallas bowling team kept its momentum in tact with its third shutout in the last four matches, securing a 15-0 win over MacArthur on Saturday at USA Bowl. The Rangers, now 5-2 on the year, move to within a game of district qualification ahead of a key week that will culminate with a showdown against district rival Marcus.

Sophomore William Martin rolled Jesuit's best game of the day, a 217 in the second game of a split series with senior Victor Martinez that resulted in a team-high 376 series. Martinez opened the match with a 160 in his top-flight opener. Senior Hayden Montpas racked up 372 series, bowling a 200 followed by a 172 while senior Will Mina racked up a 329 series (172-157) and freshman Kevin Martinez bowled a 324 (153-171). The sweep was capped by a split series 273 by sophomore Chase Hollman (135) and junior John Risinger (138).

The Rangers dominated in baker games, taking a commanding lead with a 156-64 victory in the opening stanza. A 163-64 win in game two and 140-105 advantage in the final game of the day capped the Ranger's second consecutive shutout win.

Jesuit will return to the lanes on Tuesday and face off against MacArthur again before a major matchup against Flower Mound-Marcus on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Both matches will take place at USA Bowl.
