Water Polo Sweeps Through Hebron Hawk Classic

The Rangers went 4-0 over the weekend, dominating the Hebron Hawk Classic on Aug. 19-20 at the Lewisville ISD Eastside Natatorium in The Colony. Jesuit started the weekend by sweeping Denton Ryan (21-2) and Prosper (10-6) on Friday, and moved its overall record to 5-2 on the year following wins over Prosper Rock Hill (11-2) and Rockwall (15-2) on Aug. 20.

Nine different Rangers found the back of the net during a dominant performance against Ryan, led by three goals from junior Cole Kostos. Junior Dominic Arra scored two goals, as did junior Jack Schwetz alongside sophomores Flyn Hughes, Oliver Miller and Jackson Powell. Additional tallies were recorded by sophomore Massimo Caruso, junior Ben Eppich and sophomore Alexander Adee. Arra and Schwetz added three assists each while junior Mack Frary picked up the win with saves in goal.
 
Jesuit Dallas 10, Prosper 6
 
The Ranger defense stood firm against the Eagles, allowing a hat trick from Arra, two goals from Schwetz and additional goals from Hughes, Kostos and junior Teddy Scherer to hold true in a 10-6 win. Frary anchored the defense with 10 more saves in goal as Schwetz added a team-high two steals.
 
Jesuit Dallas 11, Rock Hill 2
 
Kostos scored five goals and Arra scored four to help vault the Rangers past Rock Hill, 11-2. Scherer wrapped the Jesuit offense with two goals on the afternoon. The story of the game was Jesuit's ability to get the ball out of Rock Hill's possession, as the Rangers recorded 12 steals in the game. Arra, Scherer, Eppich and Schwetz recorded two steals each to tie for the team lead.
 
Jesuit Dallas 15, Rockwall 2
 
Jesuit recorded its best defensive performance of the weekend along with its second-best output during a game that saw a pair of Rangers, Caruso and Schwetz, pick up hat tricks. Arra stayed hot on the day with two goals, as Miller and Powell also hit the back of the net twice. Eppich, Kostos and Hughes rounded out the scoring column. Scherer led the team with two assists and Frary recorded seven saves.

Jesuit will conclude the non-district schedule with a trip down to Houston on Aug. 26-27, where the Blue and Gold will join the Crusader Classic, hosted by Strake Jesuit.
