Jesuit Dallas held its own against a wildly talented Frisco Wakeland squad, dropping a narrow, 8-6 decision to the Wolverines on Friday, Sept. 22 in Frisco.
 
Mathis Valenta led the charge for Jesuit at top flight singles, earning a 6-2, 6-1 win over Wakeland's Blake Vo. Jesuit's No. 2 singles player, Connor Cole, tacked on a 6-0, 6-1 win to complete Jesuit's sweep of first and second singles and doubles. Valenta and Cole combined for a 6-2, 6-1 win, while junior Dillon Blanton and sophomore William Wayne picked up a 6-2, 7-5 victory.
 
Luke Nettune picked up an 8-6 win in singles before joining Ben Woodard in an 8-2 win in doubles.
 
Jesuit Dallas will face another local tennis powerhouse on Friday, Sept. 29, when the Rangers travel to battle former district rival Coppell. First serve is set for 4 p.m. at Coppell High School.
