The Rangers concluded a wildly competitive weekend at the 2023 Crusader Classic, suffering a trio of setbacks to wrap the four-game schedule in Houston, Texas. Jesuit dropped a 14-11 decision to Strake Jesuit on Sept. 15 before a 15-14 setback to Champion and 21-16 loss to Brazoswood on Saturday, Sept. 16.

Charlie Gall scored four goals and added an assist for five points, matching senior
Dominic Arra, who recorded two goals and a team-leading three assists, for the team lead. Seniors
Cole Kostos and
Teddy Scherer finished the bout with two goals each to wrap the scoring for Jesuit. Gall added a team-leading six goals for the Rangers against Bourne-Champion and was aided by a hat trick from senior

Sam Kennington and an additional goal from Arra.

In the tournament finale against Brazoswood, Arra racked up nine points on six goals and three assists to lead the team, Gall added six points on three goals and three assists, and Scherer picked up a hat trick of his own, wrapping up the weekend with a five-point performance after securing a pair of assists. Frary finished the contest against Brazoswood with 17 saves.

Jesuit will return to district play on Friday, Sept. 22, when the Rangers travel to Highland Park to battle the Scots. The 5:30 p.m. first sprint will continue a six-game road trip for the Rangers, which will wrap on Saturday, Sept. 23 against Prosper.
