Jesuit Captures Win in District Opener

9/6/2023 6:11:00 PM

Jesuit Dallas made a statement in its first district game of the season, scoring a decisive victory over Prosper, 20-9, on Tuesday at the David A. Segal Family Aquatic Center.

Freshman Charlie Gall pieced together a historic performance in his first district contest, scoring eight goals for the Rangers. Gall's season-high performance is Jesuit's largest scoring output of the season and ranks among one of the top scoring performances in program history. Senior Dominic Arra continued his torrid pace with a four-goal outing, as fellow fourth year Teddy Scherer tacked on another hat trick with a four-goal performance.

In goal, senior Mack Frary made 10 saves, and Scherer added a blocked shot to complete a full game on the defensive and offensive ends of the field. Senior Cole Kostos picked up a hat trick for Jesuit as senior Jack Schwetz and sophomore Jack Stevens also scored goals.

The Rangers face a tight turnaround, as the Blue and Gold will welcome Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath to The Gull on Friday, Sept. 8 for a double header. Jesuit and Rockwall will battle at 2 p.m., followed by a matchup between Jesuit and Heath scheduled for 3 p.m. District play will resume for the Rangers on September 9, when Jesuit travels to Prosper ISD Natatorium to battle Prosper Rock Hill.
