10/10/2024 10:09:00 PM

Jesuit Dallas water polo ended the 2024 season in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region I-6A Area Round, dropping a heavily contested, 13-9 decision to Texas top-ranked Flower Mound Marcus on Thursday at the LISD Eastside Natatorium in The Colony. The Rangers finish the year with a 17-13 record, secured the second playoff berth in program history and the second playoff win in program history before Thursday's loss to the nationally-ranked Marauders.

The Rangers were anchored by sophomore Charlie Gall, who scored a team-leading four goals, followed by three goals from sophomore Sebastian Lazar. Senior Oliver Miller completed the Rangers' scoring on the night with two goals of his own. Junior Cayden Bartusek was stellar in net, making 16 saves against the high-powered Marcus offense which entered the area round averaging 17.4 goals per game. Gall picked up a team-high five steals to go along with his team-leading scoring output while Bartusek and senior Flyn Hughes added one steal apiece. Lazar and Bartusek added assists to the Jesuit Dallas scoresheet.

Jesuit finished second in District 3-6A, going 6-2 against district foes including massive back-to-back wins over Southlake Carroll and Highland Park during the final week of the regular season. The Rangers secured the second playoff victory in program history with a 23-1 triumph over Garland on Monday at the David A. Segal Family Aquatic Center.
