Sophomore Charlie Gall scored six goals in a wild back and forth affair between Jesuit and Hebron on Monday evening. However, the Hawks scored with one second remaining to escape LISD Eastside with a 15-14 win over the Rangers in Jesuit's 2024 season opener.
No team led by more than a single goal throughout the contest as the Rangers and Hawks battled in a wildly entertaining showdown. Juniors Cayden Bartusek, Sam Kennington and Jack Stevens scored two goals apiece while tallies from senior Alex Adee and sophomore Sebastian Lazar completed the Jesuit scoring column.
Senior Jackson Powell recorded six saves in his debut as the team's varsity goalkeeper, adding a steal alongside Gall, Kennington and Lazar.Â
Jesuit will open its home schedule on Thursday, Aug. 15 against St. Mark's. First sprint for the JV team will take place at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity matchup at 6:15 p.m.
