The Rangers dropped their first dual match of the year, 7-5, to Frisco Wakeland on Friday at The Hockaday School.

Mark Scucchi led the way with an 8-7 (4) tiebreaker victory at No. 3 doubles. Freshman
Xavier Horler picked up Jesuit's second singles win, 8-4. Senior
Ben Woodard battled but fell, 8-6 at No. 2 doubles while senior
Dillon Blanton dropped an 8-4 decision in the top-flight match.

The Rangers gained ground in doubles play, as Scucchi and junior
Luke Nettune won an 8-6 match at No. 2 doubles. Blanton and Woodard split two matches, falling 8-6 to the Wakeland pairing of Thangaraju and Blum before securing an 8-6 win to end the match. Nettune and sophomore
Jack Hardy teamed up for an 8-3 win in doubles for the Rangers' final point of the match.

Jesuit will return to action on Tuesday, as the Rangers finish district match play against Nimitz. The Rangers will target the district sweep against the Vikings, with first serve taking place at 3:30 p.m. in Irving.
