Water Polo Wraps Run at Strake Jesuit Invitational

Jesuit suffered a pair of losses to close the 2024 Strake Jesuit Invitational on Saturday in Houston. The Rangers dropped a 16-6 decision to Clute Brazoswood to start the final day of the two-day tournament, ending the four-game run with a 17-5 loss to Clear Creek.
 
Sophomore Sebastian Lazar led the charge against Brazoswood with two goals, while seniors Alexander Adee, Luke Wiley, junior Jack Stevens and sophomore Charlie Gall scored one goal apiece. Freshman Ivan Hernandez and Gall posted two assists apiece, Gall and Lazar each tacked on a steal and senior Jackson Powell made three saves. Against Clear Creek, Adee, Gall, Wiley, Lazar and junior Noah Nicosia found the back of the net as Gall, Nicosia, Stevens and Wiley each secured assists. Gall and Lazar tied for the team lead with two steals apiece, and Powell made three more saves.
 
Jesuit will return to action on Friday, September 13 against Keller as the Rangers return to district action following a 25-3 win over South Grand Prairie in last Tuesday's district opener. First sprint is set for 4 p.m. at the David A. Segal Family Aquatic Center.
