Charlie Gall scored a game winner in the final 20 seconds of a Jesuit Dallas win over Bridgeland and then the Rangers scored the final four goals in a 12-11 win over Boerne Champion at the Texas Cup on Friday.
Jesuit defeated Bridgeland 16-15 to close out pool play with a 2-1 mark and then opened bracket play with a thrilling win over the Chargers. The Rangers will now face Foster in the semifinals before meeting either Westlake or Marcus in the third place/championship game. Both games will be played at the LISD Westside Aquatic Center.
Gall had seven goals and five steals in the morning game, while junior
Aidan Reardon drew three exclusions and a penalty shot, along with assisting on Gall's game winner with 17 seconds left.
Andres Acosta made nine saves and then sophomore
Raymond Zhang stopped the final Bridgeland shot as time expired. The Rangers trailed 17-16 with 1:32 left after three Bear goals before tying it with 55 seconds to play on a junior
Mateo Combs score.
In the afternoon contest, sophomore
Jamie Tison made 13 saves to lead the JCP defense. Gall and Reardon combined for 11 of the team's 12 goals, including the final three during the 4-0 run to close out the game.
