DALLAS - The Jesuit Dallas water polo team used a strong second half and got a great defensive effort to defeat Hebron, 18-15, at the David A. Segal Family Aquatic Center on Tuesday.

Jesuit (5-5) played its sixth game decided by three goals or less and snapped a 2-game losing skid. Hebron (10-5) lost for the third time in its last four outings.

Senior Charlie Gall and sophomore Ramond Zhang each had five goals, while junior Tamer Nino had four assists. Sophomore Jamie Tison blocked eight shots in goal.

The back and forth contest was tied at 10 at the half. Hebron led 13-12 going into the fourth quarter before Jesuit scored the first three of the final seven minutes to grab a 15-13 lead. The Hawks had pulled to within 17-15 before Zhang fed Gall for a 1-timer goal to beat the shot clock with 1:10 remaining and give the Rangers some breathing room in what turned out to be the final goal of the game.

Jesuit will return to play next Tuesday when it opens District 3-6A play against Richland. The game is slated to start at at 5:30 p.m. at The Gull.
