Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith took the reins of the Jesuit hockey program following the team’s 2013 state-championship season. From 2006 through that spring, in which Jesuit became the first hockey team in the state of Texas to compete at the USA Hockey High School National Championships, Smith served as the associate head coach of the varsity.

Smith’s stint at Jesuit marks his first as a head coach at the secondary level, although he has a distinguished history as an assistant coach and instructor, and has enjoyed a multitude of success at the developmental level. From 2001-04, he was the associate head coach at Plano West, where he helped guide the team to multiple section titles as well as the 2004 state crown.

A longtime coach with the Dallas Junior Hockey Association and the Dallas Metro Hockey Association, his teams have won numerous postseason titles. From 1993-97, Smith served as an equipment manager with the Dallas Stars, while he replicated those duties with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2000-01. His instructional experience includes positions at the Dallas Stars and World Class Hockey summer camps.
