Damon Wilson was hired to lead the Jesuit Dallas volleyball program prior to the 2022 spring season.
During his five seasons leading the Rangers, he has led the team to a 62-25-2 record, along with an appearnce in the Texas Boys High School Volleyball state playoffs each season.
Last season the Rangers won a school-record 19 matches and earned the top seed in the TBHSVÂ State Tournament. Jesuit finished third in the state tourney.
In 2025, Jesuit went 16-6-2 and made the program's first appearance in the state championship match. Sophomores Eli Garz and Daniel Shao both earned All-State honors. Garza racked up a team-leading 59 aces, averaging 1.05 aces per set, and finished second on the team with 158 kills while collecting the team's best hitting percentage with a .256 clip on the year. Shao was Jesuit's defensive standout during the season with a team-high 142 digs, averaging 2.45 digs per set. In addition, Shao collected 42 aces, ranking third on the team, and added 14 kills to the team's effort while picking up 39 assists for the third-highest total on the team.
Jesuit took third in 2024, compiling a 12-8 record. Senior Justin Pack led the team with 3.54 kills per set.Â
Wilson attended Howard Payne University in 1988 from Mesquite as a basketball player and went on to start, play and coach the HPU men’s club volleyball program. After serving as women's assistant volleyball coach, he took over the program and guided the team to three consecutive conference championships. Wilson was named American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year three times. He also earned NAIA Southwest Region Coach of the Year once.
In the fall of 1997, Wilson took over the volleyball program at Tarleton State University, leading the Texans to their first non-losing season since 1991. In four years at Tarleton, he recruited two freshmen of the year players and a conference preseason most valuable player.
Wilson then moved to the high school ranks as head coaching at Crandall, Rockwall and Jesuit. He earned four Coach of the Year honors, coached teams to four district championships and reached his 500th career coaching victory in 2017.
