Senior Enrique Borrego earned his first trip to the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A State Championships with a sixth-place finish at the Region I-6A Championships on Oct. 25 at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock, Texas. Borrego ran a 15:48.0, his second-best time of the season, to help Jesuit finish 13th overall at the event. The senior earned his first state berth in his third career regional race, finishing nearly seven seconds ahead of Coppell's Andrew Mullen and finishing in a pack of four runners that all finished within a 2.7 second span.
