Rice led the Rangers in tackling, making nine total stops, five tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks to help send Jesuit past Coppell, 41-10, in the team's UIL District 9-6A opener on Sept. 23. The senior captain cost the Cowboys 41 total yards, making seven solo tackles in front of a passionate and electric home crowd. On Sunday, Rice earned honorable mention honors from the Dallas Morning News.
