Frisco Uses Three-Goal First to Defeat Rangers

BOX SCORE

Michael Schmidt netted his sixth goal of the season, but Jesuit Dallas was unable to stop a dangerous Frisco offense, falling 5-1 to the Raccoons on Thursday night at the Dr. Pepper Star Center.

Scoring with 14:41 remaining in the second period, Schmidt capitailized off of a pass by Louis Helsen IV, who recorded his fifth assist and ninth point of the season.  Frisco (6-2-0-2) out-shot the Rangers (4-4-0-2), 32-25, scoring three goals in the first period off of 11 shots.  Ranger net-minder George McBey made 32 saves in net, while Frisco goalie Danny Jamison shut the door on 25 Jesuit Dallas shots.

Schmidt's goal in the second opened the scoring for the Blue and Gold, who entered the period trailing by three after Frisco's first period outburst.  The Racoons would net their fourth goal of the contest on the power play with 9:19 left in the period, at which point the contest reverted to a stalemate.  Neither team scored until Frisco scored its fifth and final goal of the game with one second remaining in the third period.

Jesuit Dallas will look to rebound next Thursday, when the Rangers battle Coppell at 8:15 p.m. at the Dr. Pepper Star Center in Farmers Branch.
