Taking advantage of a dominating scoring run in the opening half, Jesuit Dallas cruised to its third consecutive University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 9-6A victory, upending W.T. White, 80-33, on Friday evening at Walsh Gymnasium.

The Rangers (13-5, 3-0) enjoyed their best shooting performance of the 2015-16 campaign, combining for a season-high 31 field goals while tallying their third highest point total of the season. Sophomore
Michael Jankovich scored a team-high 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, tacking on five three-pointers while junior
Mitch Prendergast added 17 points to the Jesuit Dallas effort.

Jacob Palisch fell one rebound short of a double double, converting 5-of-6 shots from the floor to finish with 10 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore
Marcus Hill kept his double-digit scoring streak intact, scoring 11 points to push his impressive run to eight games. Senior
Ben Kunasek filled the stat line with seven points, five rebounds, four steals and a block while tying sophomore
Reid Hatzmann with a team-high five assists. Â Additionally, junior Keagan Nwosu finished the game 3-for-3 to finish with six points.

The Rangers finished the evening shooting 54.4 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range, out-scoring the Longhorns, 38-22, in the paint while scoring 15 points off of 17 W.T. White turnovers.  Jesuit Dallas began a massive, 16-0 run with 4:48 remaining in the first, ending the quarter with 11 unanswered points before closing the game-changing run with five unanswered points to begin the second. Nwosu scored a pair of buckets with under two minutes remaining in the first half to send the Rangers into the break with 40-18 lead.
Nwosu's layups carried Jesuit's momentum into the second quarter, sparking another massive, 15-0 run that increased the lead to 51-18 with 6:45 remaining in the third. A final, 10-0 run with under five minutes remaining in the final quarter closed a dominating effort for the home team, who played in front of a packed gym of students, fans and supporters on the night of the team's annual "Gold Out" game and the yearly "Battle for the Saddle" between the two district rivals.Â
The Rangers will next travel to Irving on Tuesday, Nov. 12 for a key UIL District 9-6A bout against MacArthur, currently scheduled for 6 p.m. at MacArthur High School.
