Holton Schwartz scored a go-ahead goal with 14:12 remaining in the third period, but a late equalizer by the Frisco Raccoons ultimately sent the Rangers to a 3-2, shootout loss at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in Richardson on Thursday, Feb. 5.

Louis Helsen IV ended the contest with a goal and an assist, tallying his ninth goal of the year while improving his current season total to 17 points.  Holton Schwartz scored his second goal of the 2015-16 campaign for the Rangers (7-9-0).  Jesuit Dallas goalkeeper George McBey made 33 saves during 50 minutes in net.

Frisco (13-4-0), aiming for its 10th consecutive victory, opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal at the midway point of the opening period.  Holding the Rangers to seven shots in the opening stanza, the Raccoons blanked the Blue and Gold in the first before Helsen scored 35 seconds into the second to tie the game at 1-1.  Both teams struggled offensively in the second, but the Ranger defense held firm, shaking off a pair of Frisco power plays to enter the third tied, 1-1.

Helsen found Schwartz 48 seconds into the third period, putting the Rangers ahead, 2-1, early in the closing period.  However, Frisco unleashed an offensive flurry on Jesuit, taking 13 third period shots and tying the game with 3:27 remaining on an even strength goal.  The Rangers were offensively shut down in the overtime period, unable to record a shot against the Frisco defense, which carried over to the shootout period.  Anthony Calabrese, Helsen and Michael Schmidt were stopped in their shootout attempt, and a Frisco shootout goal by Andrew Warhoftig ended the AT&T Metroplex Hockey League bout.

Jesuit Dallas will next continue in the 2016 Texas Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA) State Tournament, battling Allen on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 12:30 p.m. with the goal of advancing to the championship game, which will take place on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m.  AT&T Metroplex Hockey League play will continue on Thursday, Feb. 11 against Plano East/Lovejoy at 8:45 p.m. at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in Richardson.
