Unbeaten Start Remains Intact for Top-Ranked Lacrosse

Two goals apiece from junior Daniel Burnum alongside sophomores David Sprock and Grayson Hassell propelled the top-ranked Jesuit Dallas lacrosse team to a 9-4 road win over Plano West on Thursday, Mar. 3.

Entering the week ranked No. 1 in the state of Texas according to LaxPower, the Rangers improved to 7-0 on the season with a dominant performance, securing 35 ground balls compared to 13 by the Wolves, winning 14 of 17 faceoffs and converting 16-of-17 clear attempts. 

Seniors Blake Buell and Garrett Munck joined junior Jack Tabor in the scoring column, while Sprock, Burnum and Munck additionally secured one assist each.  Buell led the team with nine ground balls, while junior Reece Ellison and senior John Michael Priddy recorded six and five ground balls, respectively.

After Plano West opened the scoring, Hassell tallied the squad's first goal of the contest.  Plano West took a 3-2 lead early in the second stanza, but Jesuit Dallas erupted for five unanswered goals, taking a 7-4 advantage with two minutes left in the third, cruising to the win with a dominant second half.

Next, the Rangers will travel to Phoenix, Arizona for a pair of games at Brophy College Preparatory School.  Jesuit Dallas will first face off against Gonzaga from Washington D.C. on Friday, Mar. 18 before battling the hosting Broncos the following day.
