A four-goal performance by senior
Zachary Kissick punctuated a dominant regular season for the Texas state-ranked No. 2 Jesuit Dallas Rangers, who upended Keller, 17-5, on Wednesday evening at Keller H.S.
Kissick was one of eight Rangers to find twine in the team's regular season finale, tying the highest single-game individual goal output of the season and helping the team to a season-high 17 goals.Â
Kissick's effort is the sixth time that a member of Jesuit Dallas tallied four goals in a game, the most recent a four-goal outing against Southlake Carroll on Apr. 12 by classmate
Garrett Munck, who added a pair of goals against Keller.
Sophomore
David Sprock picked up a hat trick, improving his goal total on the year to 23 tallies, which moves him into a tie for the team lead. Senior
Sean Rilley led the team in overall points, finding the back of the net three times while adding a pair of assists. Along with Munck's two goals, seniors
Blake Buell, and
Colton Hart alongside juniors
Daniel Burnum and
Trey Wiederecht logged a goal each.
Defensively, junior
Luke Millican recorded eight saves, while junior
Reece Ellison led the team with eight ground balls. Hart joined fellow fourth year
John Michael Priddy with four ground balls, and the Rangers (14-2) converted 20-of-22 clear attempts, securing 17-of-24 faceoff and a 44-23 advantage in ground balls.
Three unanswered Jesuit Dallas goals kick-started the evening's offense, a dominant opening quarter that ended with Kissick's second goal of the contest, scored with one second remaining in the first. Three saves from Millican helped the Rangers blank the Indians in the second quarter, with goals from Munck, Sprock and Kissick helping the team to an 8-1 lead at halftime.
In the third, Keller scored four goals to finally make a dent on the scoreboard, but the Rangers, jump-started by two goals apiece from Sprock and Rilley, bolstered their lead to 14-5 heading into the fourth. Millican and sophomore
Michael Huber combined for five saves in the fourth to keep the lead intact, with Kissick tallying his fourth goal of the afternoon 18 seconds into the fourth.
Jesuit Dallas finishes the regular season as the No. 2 seed out of the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) North Division. Earning a bye in the first round of the THSLL State Championships, the Rangers will take on an undetermined opponent in the THSLL Super Regional Round, scheduled for Sunday, May 8 at 3 p.m. in Houston, Texas.
