Jesuit rebounded from its first loss of the season with a resounding, 11-4 win over Grapevine on Tuesday, January 17. The Rangers, who fell 13-2 to LD Bell on Saturday, Jan. 14, reestablished momentum for the home stretch of the season with the victory over the Mustangs.
Â
Against Grapevine, Jesuit won five of the seven singles matches, falling just short in the final two and losing by one pin in each bout. The Mustangs ushered in a comeback in the baker games, slicing into the Jesuit lead to one point heading into the final two games. However, the resilient Jesuit contingent returned to form down the stretch to derail Grapevine's upset aspirations.
Â
"Grapevine really bowled well in the first Baker game and put some real pressure to win the last two games or risk losing a close match," commented Jesuit Dallas head coach
Ken Howell. "Our guys really picked it up in the last two matches to pull away."

Senior
Chad Uy rolled a 200 in singles to topple LD Bell's top bowler, but the Blue Raiders were able to post a 5-2 lead after singles competition. That momentum continued into the baker games, where LD Bell harnessed control of the matchup, sweeping the second portion of the competition to secure the win.
Â
"We struggled some this week and LD Bell was on fire," added Howell. "Our guys showed heart staying in each game and will learn and build from this and give them a real fight next time we meet."

The Rangers will next battle Nimitz on Monday, January 30 in Euless, Texas. Monday's match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. from ITZ Euless.
