Playing in their third game within a 24-hour span, the Rangers dropped a 76-51 decision to Lake Travis on Friday, Dec. 29 to fall into the fifth-place bracket of the In-and-Out Burger Allen Holiday Tournament at Allen High School. Jesuit Dallas saw three players score in double digits but fell victim to a determined Cavalier frontcourt.

Marcus Hill led the way for the Blue and Gold by hitting four three pointers to finish with 12 points, followed by 10-point performances by both senior
Michael Jankovich and junior
Max Abmas. Jankovich led the Rangers with eight rebounds while sophomore Evan Blackmon racked up a team-leading three assists.

How it Happened

- The Rangers shot 6-of-14 in the first quarter but turned the ball over four times to help the Cavaliers to a 24-15 lead heading into the second. A 10-0 run by Lake Travis created a double-digit advantage halfway through the second quarter.

- Jesuit cooled down from three-point range in the second, shooting 5-of-11 in the second to make a late push at the Lake Travis lead heading into halftime. The Rangers closed the half on a 13-6 run to go into the break trailing, 37-28.

- Hill hit a pair of three-pointers in the third quarter to keep Jesuit in the contest, but Lake Travis began to heat up from the floor, shooting 5-for-9 in the third to take a 12-point lead into the fourth. The Cavaliers would close the game on a 26-13 run to secure the 25-point win.

- The Lake Travis front court scored 36 points in the paint and grabbed five offensive boards leading to 10 second chance points. By comparison, Jesuit Dallas scored 23 points in the paint and four second chance points.

- Jesuit Dallas closed the contest converting 5-of-7 free throw attempts. Jankovich went 2-for-2, senior Joey Preboy added a free throw on a traditional three-point play while Blackmon buried both of his attempts from the charity stripe.

Jesuit Dallas will take on Sulphur Springs at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30 in the fifth-place semifinal at the Allen Holiday Invitational. The game will take place at Allen High School inside gym #2. If the Rangers defeat the Wildcats, they will play in the fifth-place game at 5 p.m. against either Bishop Lynch or Little Elm.
