A five-goal performance by junior
David Sprock led Jesuit Dallas lacrosse to a 9-7 victory over Bellevue (Wash.) on Saturday, April 8 at Postell Stadium. The Rangers hand the Wolverines their first loss of the 2017 campaign, winning their fourth consecutive game to enter the homestretch of the regular season on a four-game winning streak.

The Rangers (9-3) had three different goal scorers, led by five tallies by Sprock. Senior
Trey Wiederecht tallied a pair of goals and an assist, while sophomore
Matthew Priddy found twine twice. Senior
Daniel Burnum led the team with four assists, while junior
Jack Tabor, who also went 2-for-3 in faceoffs, assisted on Priddy's goal.

Sprock added a team-leading six ground balls, and
Jesuit collected nine groundballs in the fourth quarter, finishing the game with 22 groundballs compared to 18 for Bellevue. The Wolverines captured 10 of 17 faceoffs, but Jesuit disrupted five Bellevue clear attempts while converting 24-of-27 chances.

After a game-opening tally by Bellevue four minutes into the first, Jesuit rattled off four unanswered goals, sparked by a goal from Wiederecht with one second remaining in the opening quarter. Two goals from Sprock and a tally by Priddy completed the four-goal swing, and Wiederecht scored his second of the game to answer a Wolverine goal to send Jesuit into the break leading, 5-2.

Bellevue cut the Jesuit lead to one with two unanswered third quarter goals, shutting the Rangers out in the frame to enter the fourth down, 5-4. Sprock scored two goals in the first five minutes of the fourth to bolster Jesuit's lead to three goals, adding his fifth tally of the contest after two unanswered scores from Bellevue to spot Jesuit a two-goal lead with 3:13 left. The Jesuit Dallas defense held the Wolverines over the final three minutes before Priddy put the game away by scoring a goal with 34 seconds remaining in the fourth.

Jesuit will next take on St. Mark's on Thursday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Dallas, Texas, and will return to Postell Stadium on Friday, April 21 to welcome the Highland Park Scots for a Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) 2016 State Championship rematch.
