A career-high five goals from senior
Matthew Wrobel propelled Jesuit to a resounding, 8-2 win over Plano East on Thursday, November 1 at the StarCenter in Richardson, Texas. With the victory, Jesuit moves into sole possession of third place in the AT&T Metroplex Varsity Gold division and improve to 4-1-0 over their past five games.

The dominating night began in the second period with the game tied, 1-1. Wrobel scored unassisted 3:15 into the period before Plano West evened up the contest with 2:11 remaining in the first. Jesuit racked up five unanswered goals to take a convincing lead, while a lockdown defense only allowed one Plano West shot in the period.

Wrobel started the run with an even-strength goal at the 6:36 mark of the second period, but Jesuit erupted for three goals in the final two minutes of the second. Zang, Wrobel and Van Beek lit the lamp to hand Jesuit a 5-1 lead at the second period intermission.

The Rangers closed the matchup with three third period goals for the impressive final tally. Wrobel netted his fourth goal of the game 59 seconds into the third period before Plano West snapped the scoring run. Phillips recorded his first tally of the season before Wrobel closed out the contest with his fifth goal of the game to complete the dominant performance.

Wrobel currently leads the team with eight goals and three assists for 11 total points. Wrobel, Clark and Zang have each recorded game-winning goals this season as Wrobel shares the team assist lead with Clark and Zang. In total, 15 members of the Jesuit varsity hockey team have recorded at least one point this season as the Rangers have a +9 goal differential while averaging four goals per game.

Jesuit Dallas will return to the ice on Thursday, November 8 when the Blue and Gold clash against Keller for the first time this season. Puck drop from the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in Richardson will take place at 7 p.m.
