How it Happened
- Rowlett was able to score a first inning run off of the Rangers before Jesuit scored two in the bottom of the frame and three runs in the second to take an early, four-run lead. Mack earned a walk to lead off the bottom of the first, scoring on a single to left center by Reuben to tie the game at 1-1. Lopez, who singled through the left side with one out to reach base, gave the Rangers their first lead of the game by scoring on a passed ball.
Â
- After Lynch forced an inning-ending, 5-4-3 double play, Murrah singled to center to start the second inning, scoring on a ground rule double by Mack to blossom the Jesuit lead to two runs. A sacrifice bunt by Boyle and a sacrifice fly by Lopez increased the advantage to four runs to put the Rangers into firm control of the contest.
Â
- A leadoff double by Pointer in the bottom of the third provided the spark that led to Jesuit's sixth run of the game as Carlson laced a single up the middle that plated senior pinch runner Cole Beach.
Â
- Jesuit Dallas concluded its scoring in the bottom of the fourth, sparked by a ground rule double by Lopez. Kamalipour's single to right scored Lopez before the senior scored on a single to right by Pointer for the sophomore catcher's second RBI of the game.
Â
- Lynch held the Eagles without a runner in scoring position until the first batter fifth inning, but the junior closed out a dominant outing by retiring the following three batters to keep Rowlett off the scoreboard. Irby retired the Eagles' sixth inning with a runner in scoring position before closing out the game in the top of the seventh.
