Giuliano Sanchez Named Assistant Director of Athletic Performance

Jesuit Dallas director of athletic performance Jeremy Weeks has announced the hiring of Giuliano Sanchez as the Assistant Director of Athletic Performance. Sanchez arrives to Jesuit from Michigan State University and will begin his post during the 2019-20 academic year.

While at East Lansing, Sanchez served as an intern for the Spartans' strength and conditioning department. Prior to his time in East Lansing, Sanchez was a sports performance coach at the University of Denver in 2017 and a strength and conditioning coach at Muir Orthopedia Specialists in 2016. 

Sanchez graduated from Louisiana State University in December of 2015 with a master's degree in kinesiology with a focus in exercise physiology, earning his bachelor's degree in kinesiology with a focus in fitness and health promotion from Colorado Mesa University in 2014. A lacrosse player at Colorado Mesa University, Sanchez was a two-time team captain and All-Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association team selection.

Weeks and Sanchez will continue the evolution of the Jesuit Dallas athletic performance department, which places a strong emphasis on the traditional approach to strength and conditioning by using scientifically proven methods in training students to increase strength, power, speed and agility, while also focusing on the psychological aspect of athletic performance. Physical fitness, mental drills, nutrition education, and the development of personal accountability not only fosters our students' physical abilities, but also serves as a means for enhancing growth as well-rounded individuals.

Jesuit student-athletes have the opportunity to utilize the Ranger Performance Center, a fully-equipped 9,000-square foot weight training facility. The space features 14 PowerLift brand combination racks with 28 Olympic platforms, cardio equipment area, 7,980 pounds of Iron Grip free weights, 28 sets of Uesaka Olympic plates, and an extensive Iron Grip dumbbell area ranging from 15 to 100 pounds.
