Jesuit Dallas hockey started the 2018-19 season with a shootout win over Keller on Thursday at the Euless StarCenter. Sophomore
Seth Dragojevic netted the game-winner in the shootout to improve Jesuit's winning streak to three games, which includes the team's back-to-back victories to end the 2017-18 season.

Jack Rahlfs started in net for the Rangers, making 31 saves and turning aside three of Keller's four shootout attempts to earn his first varsity victory.

Both teams erupted out of the gate in the first period as Jesuit racked up 19 shots while Keller made 28 attempts. Van Beek found
Seth Dragojevic for the team's first goal of the season, ripping a shot past Keller netminder Logan Riley to give Jesuit a 1-0 lead with 4:40 remaining in the first period.

Keller responded with two goals in the second, the first five minutes into the period before a go-ahead tally with 1:11 remaining before the second intermission. The Rangers equalized the contest with 7:40 remaining in the third period when Zang found
JonMikal Dragojevic for a tally on the power play.

After a scoreless overtime period set the stage for a shootout, Van Beek gave the Rangers an early lead after sending the shootout-opening shot past Riley. Rahlfs stuffed the first Keller shooter but watched as Jackson Sutter knotted the shootout at 1-1 on the Indians' second attempt.

A scoreless third round led to Dragojevic's game-winner as Rahlfs was able to turn aside the final attempt from Keller's Chris Yonce to clinch the team's first season-opening win since the 2014-15 season.

Jesuit Dallas will return to action on Thursday, September 27 when the Blue and Gold face off against Coppell. The Cowboys opened their season with a 2-1 loss against McKinney on Thursday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Richardson StarCenter.
