McKinney struck early, scoring 27 seconds into the first period to take an early, one-goal advantage. Jesuit was held without a goal despite taking nine shots during the period while McKinney scored on Jesuit's fourth penalty of the period to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Senior
Matthew Wrobel collected an assist on Zang's sixth goal of the season to cut the lead in half. McKinney scored its third goal of the bout at the 10:35 mark to return the lead to two heading into the third.

The Rangers started to build momentum late in the second period as Jesuit created three power play opportunities over the final three minutes of the second period. Jesuit finally capitalized two minutes into the third as Dragojevic scored his sixth goal of the year unassisted to close the gap once again. However, McKinney turned away the Rangers in the third, holding the Blue and Gold to only nine shots in the final 15 minutes while adding two insurance goals for the final total.
